Customer ownership
We never sell or own our customers' equipment. Batteries and the value they generate remain under the customer's own control — always.
About the company
Truman Data Oy (Ltd.) is a Finnish startup that developed the Energy Coop platform, an AI-driven, battery-first (BESS-first) virtual power plant that optimises all energy use in any building, as well as battery operations.
The virtual power plant platform combines a property’s different energy assets into a single power and flexibility reserve that can be traded on the demand response market(s) and is as profitable as possible for the customer.
The company mainly serves property owners, municipalities, real estate investors, and energy companies, all keen to harness the energy of all types of buildings and their batteries as pooled demand response capacity that creates added value while meeting their environmental and financial targets.
What we do
Energy Coop builds on technology developed at VTT*, which we have taken further into a next-generation demand response solution: decentralised and edge-based, it tracks every energy-use asset wherever it is connected, and we offer it to the built environment as a platform service.
We do not sell or own our customers’ equipment. The batteries that will eventually enter their buildings, and the added value they generate, always remain under the customer’s control, like every other energy asset we aggregate.
End customers always come first, and the price terms and environmental targets are theirs to set.
* VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) is a forerunner in research, development and innovation, and one of Europe’s leading research organisations developing cutting-edge technologies.
How we operate
We never sell or own our customers' equipment. Batteries and the value they generate remain under the customer's own control — always.
The technology is decentralised and edge-based: intelligence lives close to the assets, in the buildings themselves.
Flexibility is optimised for both the price terms and the environmental targets each customer sets — one does not exclude the other.
