How it empowers
Flexibility in your buildings, on your terms
Property owners, funds and municipalities… those who will pay for the rising energy costs of the data centres boom, can now turn the flexibility already in their buildings into a new revenue stream and shift the balance of power in their next electricity negotiations, knowing exactly what their flexibility is worth. Adding batteries to the same process increases flexibility and further strengthens their negotiating position.
Not another Battery-as-a-Service
We turn that around
Many Battery-as-a-Service offers tie customers to five- to ten-year contracts and fixed prices, with much of the revenue flowing back to the investor and the service provider. Truman Data turns that around: property owners planning investments in battery energy storage systems can have Truman Data calculate what their BESS-equipped buildings would save and earn on Energy Coop before committing to any BESS vendor. The calculation uses Truman Data's BESS-first analysis tool.
Your side of the table
We stand on the customer's side
As Truman Data doesn't sell or own its customers' BESS assets, we can stand on the customer's side of the table. We help customers arrange financing for their BESS solution without any long-term lock-in, and we earn through Energy Coop PaaS and only the agreed share of what the customer earns, and if our customer doesn't earn, we won't either, ensuring our interests always point in the same direction. The customer keeps control of both the value and the investment.
Proven in a pilot
An 11.4% cut in electricity costs, 4.2% more from flexibility trading
Truman Data has proven its customer-first model in a pilot in 2025 where the platform's recorded data showed an 11.4% cut in annual electricity costs through optimisation, while calculated flexibility trading revenue added a further 4.2% of the annual electricity bill, a total benefit of 15.7%. Connecting 3–7 small and mid-size BESS solutions to Energy Coop alongside the buildings raised the pilot portfolio's total benefits by +10 percentage points, reaching a total of over 25%.

The market ahead
It is a negotiation weapon!
Demand for flexibility will keep growing, and property owners can make that into a new revenue stream. In Finland, national transmission system operator Fingrid said in August 2026 that projects with signed grid connection agreements, led by data centres and electric boilers, would raise Finland's electricity consumption by nearly 40% from the 2025 level if all were fully implemented, and that more balancing power and flexibility will be needed. Yes, we too see the need for more demand response capacity… but on what and especially on whose terms, in that Truman Data, as an end-customer-focused company… we have seldom agreed with the markets.
How?
One AI, predicting and trading across every building
Since at the core of the Energy Coop system is an AI that predicts for the user constantly how much flexibility owners' properties and the batteries within those can provide together to optimize energy use, i.e., the bill, while it simultaneously offers flexibility available from across the buildings for demand response at prices that are set by the end-customer and not by the energy supplier. The system automatically controls heating, ventilation, EV charging, and battery loads within limits set by the customer, packages the flexibility into trades, and executes the trades in the same way as on Nord Pool's day-ahead and intraday markets (Day-ahead and Intraday), but at a better price for the end customer than any other system.
And here is the core of the negotiating power: Energy Coop shows what the flexibility of the customer's energy assets is worth at real market prices for a forecast for one week, a month, or even for a year, and lets the customer trade with it without binding price terms. The electricity end-customer can therefore assess any electricity seller's offer in light of their own figures and forecasts, and negotiate on the basis of facts, not guesswork.
